Kamilah "Kam" Wesley:
Kamilah is the founder and Senior Event Specialist for The Main Event Planners LLC. A graduate of the Christopher Newport University Luter School of Business, Kamilah is a Management major and Spanish minor. It was during her years as an undergrad that she discovered her true love, event planning and coordination. At the time of graduation, Kamilah had gained valuable event planning experience coordinating special guest speakers, campus-wide social events, even college site visits during her tenure as co-chair of Captains for Excellence, a mentor partnership program between CNU and Newport News Public Schools.
Kamilah loves all aspects of events. In addition to social soirees, she also has credible experience planning meetings and conferences for the federal government. She currently organizes The Washington Special Events Professional Network (WSPEN) , a social networking outlet for special event and meeting planning professionals in the Washington DC Metro area. She credits her astute attention to detail and strong customer service orientation for her success as a special event and meeting professional. Whether its researching venues, attending vendor appointments with a client, or providing event etiquette advice; Kamilah is dedicated and passionate about the special events profession.
In an effort to provide each client with 360 degrees of service, Kamilah was mindful to include image and professional style consultations to the host of services offered by The Main Event Planners LLC. She believes that "whoever said that fashion is not a part of event planning was wrong!" As we all know, one of the key components of any special event is what we are going to wear. Many struggle with this very question, which is why image consultation is available to all of our clients.
Kamilah currently resides in Woodbridge, VA. She is available to meet with clients most weekends, and weekdays by appointment regarding an upcoming special event or to provide Wedding Officiant services for your upcoming ceremony.
